01Overview

Professional overview.

Dr. Luu earned his MD at Rush Medical College, trained in general surgery through the Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital integrated program, and completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.

He served on the Rush faculty for more than a decade, most recently as Adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery. His educational leadership roles included directing the surgery clerkship and serving as Associate Residency Program Director for the combined Rush University Medical Center–Cook County Hospital general surgery residency program.

His practice today centers on anterior spine access services for the ALIF procedure and related procedures: deliberate preoperative planning, command of retroperitoneal anatomy, and close coordination with the spine surgeon and operating room team. Explore his collaboration for spine surgeons.
